For you, gentle readers, I am going to sit through the Republican National Convention with as much attention and intention as I did last week’s little Denver soiree. I commit this selfless act because I know many of you have neither the will nor the stomach for such things. Some of you might also be getting pepper-sprayed in the ass in the Twin Cities (fight the power!). Some of you will be distracted by the season premier of House. But I shall sacrifice my self interest, my brain cells, my sanity and a little bit of my soul. It’s no 5 and a half years in a POW camp (What? Too soon?) but, in my own way, I’m willing to endure for America.
It shall not be easy. I will often have to restrain myself from throwing things but the love of my new HDTV will keep me centered. I will even endeavour to listen with an open-ish mind to He Who Is Forever Dead To Me (HWIFDTM) and the Little Hockey Mom Who Could (LHMWC).
So, let us sit back and watch carefully. Remember, what you hear here today is tomorrow’s attack ad. It pays to know what the opponent is telling his army.

Heh. Thanks… and you are right. I tried watching for a few minutes tonight, and I couldn’t handle it.
