Ideally, I’d like to not pass 10 police cars gathered at the intersection 3 blocks away from my bus stop.  Also, I would prefer not to see those same streets blocked off to traffic with a car with all of its doors open in the middle of the street.  And If I have a choice, I’d like to not see small groups of people talking to each other along that street.

And then I’m not so keen on catching a glimpse of the cop car parked in the alley behind my house and I’d really rather ignore the police helicopter flying in a tight circle with its spotlight clearly focused on the two blocks behind mine.

But if I am going to have all this happen, what I would like is for someone on the freaking neighborhood blog/listserv to tell me what’s going on!
