So two more states queue up tomorrow to cast their votes in this, the longest-running primary, most annoying primary ever! Who knew that a primary of such historical proportions would end up so … well … blah.
Because here’s what’s going to happen: Obama will win North Caroline, slightly; Clinton will win in Indiana, barely. Obama will get the youth, the African-Americans, the independents. Clinton will get the Latinos, the older white women, the working poor. The popular vote spread won’t change. The delegate vote spread won’t change. Superdelegates will continue to trickle toward Obama with the full knowledge that they can always switch sides later.
So now it’s just digging ourselves in and hoping June 3 gets here fast and we can get this thing over with. Only to gear up for the nasty nuclear option — full of back door deals and arm-twisting that would make Tony Soprano blush — that Clinton is willing to go to for Michigan and Florida delegates.
Sigh.
